Our First Baby Shower

Yes, I'm very behind in posting about my first baby shower. It was held on August 27th in Decatur at the church where Brent and I got married. It's hard to believe that 2 years and 2 days from the date we were married there. My how things have changed :)

Jackson was showered with so many wonderful things. He got a lot of sock monkey gifts. I can't wait to see him in his sock monkey pajamas. He also got most of the essentials for his room and a ton of cute clothes. Brent says he won't be able to wear them all but I secretly plan on changing him enough so he can.

Here are a few photos from that day...

Jackson sure has grown in there... these pictures were all taken at 30 weeks.

How I miss that smaller belly :)

34 Weeks

Yikes! Even though I know he won't come in 3 weeks the fact that he *possibly* could and be full-term is overwhelming. I'm going to sit here and say that if he is ready to come out on that day then I will be overjoyed. Just for that statement I'll probably deliver late...

Tonight we went to class #3 of Preparing for Parenthood. We learned where to go when labor begins. If Brent and I can remember where to park, what to take, and who to call we will be good. I guess I should make us a list?  I go to the doctor for my last bi-weekly appointment on Thursday. I do not want to weigh in! I believe I will have officially crossed the 35lb goal I set in my head for weight gain. Oh well... too late to worry about it now.

I have my 2nd shower coming up this Sunday. I'm excited to see what all baby Jackson will get. He's so spoiled and we haven't even met him yet. I only have 2 things left to do and then the nursery will be finished. I promise to post pictures as soon as it's complete.

That's all I have time for now. I'm tired and Charlie looks ready to go snuggle. Updates soon :)

Thomas Family Beach Trip

Well there's not much to write about... Tropical Storm Lee zapped most of the life out of our trip. This was the first extended family trip I'd been on with the Thomas side. It was very laid back and relaxing.

PROS:
Awesome Condo
Nice Company (no screamers!)
Plenty of sleep

CONS:
RAIN
RAIN
RAIN
did I say RAIN???

Needless to say I think we decided that it can be a yearly event. I was a trooper but did my fair share of complaining. Heck I was 31 weeks pregnant and swollen up! (more on that it in a later post...)

I had no idea that rain was even in the forecast until we turned on the weather after we arrived in our 1.3million dollar condo. Yes, we found one for sale and they wanted 1.3 mill for it. CRAZY! I don't even have pictures of the inside but trust me...it was the nicest place I've ever stayed at...period.

Here are the pictures I took. We had 1 rain free day.

Big Momma @ 31 weeks

I can't believe that when we go next year we will have a baby... almost a year old. I can't wait to watch and see how the whole Thomas side of the family grows during the next few years :)

Thankful for the Weekend

Finally off work. So glad... the shrek swollen feet and ankles are now propped up and will remain that way until Brent gets home and tells Big Momma what he wants for dinner. Fingers crossed it's a dinner date night.

Charlie's back home and resuming his usual positions. Sleeping everywhere and cuddling with the bump. Oh how I love this dog. I hope baby Jackson loves him too.

(please notice that my face is swelling... one manager at my work said "oh your face finally looks pregnant!" how great that made me feel.)

I can't believe it's been 10 years since 9/11. I just heard on the news about a local military group visiting a high school in our area because some of the students are too young to remember the day. That makes me feel ancient. I can't imagine not remembering and knowing all about that tragic day.

Brent finally stopped boycotting his ipad. I gave him an ipad for his birthday/anniversary gift. At first he was so mad at me because he said I spent too much money. I tried to explain that I'd been saving and it didn't set me back but he just wouldn't budge. Since he activated it he's used it every day. I'm so glad. He honestly needed it. His laptop is horrible and won't even turn on.

Big game tomorrow. Can't wait to go make my bulletins at church then spend all day with friends watching games. ROLL TIDE!

What a DAY!

We got in from vacation around 7pm last night. We were in bed and snuggled up with Charlie by 10. I was up bright and early eager to get back to work and catch up on what I missed over the last three days. However my car had other plans. I attempted to crank up and leave at 6:45am. Nothing happened. I called Brent and he had to turn around and come back to the house to help me. We managed to jump my battery off after 30 minutes of charging. The commute was miserable. Due to Tropical Storm Lee's passing the city had tons of power outages and people could NOT drive. It took us 1 1/2 hours to go 8 miles. We had to follow each other to the mechanic shop to drop off my 4Runner. My battery lasted 5 years! I'm astonished that it never died before today. I got my car over the Labor Day Holiday back in 2006. I finally made it to work (in Brent's car) at 9:15. I pray that it never takes me 2 hours and 30 minutes to get to work again!

As soon as I got to work I had to turn around and head to the doctor. I had my bi-weekly appointment today. No big changes. A few gained lbs and normal bp and specimens. Those appointments feel so pointless. I actually do not like going. I'd assume just go again at 36 weeks.

Brent and I had our first "Preparing for Parenthood" class tonight. We learned about contractions and when to call the doctor. I can already picture me complaining and Brent saying "Play on Facebook" or "Hold Charlie" to make me ignore what's going on with my body. Oh to be a fly on our wall when that big day arrives.

I got home to a package! I ordered a Kate Spade handbag last week when they had a sample sale. I love it! I've already moved all my goods to it and it's ready to go for tomorrow. I'm slightly obsessed with purses. I always have been though...even in Jr. High.

Well tomorrow marks the start of week 32. Pictures coming soon of vacation and week 31.

Beach time

This post comes to you straight from our balcony at the beach. Our condo is AMAZING!!! We got a great deal on a 4. Bedroom 3 bath condo in Santa Rosa Beach. It's the first Thomas family beach trip in a few years. Gangs all here... Mr. David, Mrs.Melinda, Justin & Jenn, Mike & Moriah and of course me and Brent.

I'm also posting from Brent's iPad for the very first time. He got this as a gift from me for his birthday/ anniversary. I swore I wouldn't use it so it wouldn't come across as a selfish gift!

The third trimester continues to bless me with swollen feet and ankles. They've been pretty big all day today. It grosses me out. Since my last post we have hit the 31 week mark. I can't believe we have less than 2 months to go!! I attempted a 3D ultrasound on Wednesday but the machine wasn't cooperating. Instead, they did a 2D and I saw Jackson's profile. He's so big now! I can't wait to meet him :)

Brent and I also celebrated our 2nd anniversary since the last post. We had a yummy dinner at J.Alexanders. I'm so Lucky to have him as my husband.

Well enough posting for now. Off to enjoy family time!!
