Has it really been 20 days since my last post? Good Grief! I don't have time for details (and Brent's trying to sleep as I type) so I'll give you guys a heads up of why I've been MIA on posts.

  • We closed on the new house!
  • Jessica delivered sweet baby Grady then had a really scary medical situation. Thank you Jesus for answered prayers
  • Brent's Pawpaw passed away
  • We moved (during the time of the above two bullet points)
  • Had family come and stay / help us move
  • Emily & Wes came and visited for a weekend
  • We've been trying to organize the new place

To say the past 20 days were a whirlwind would be an understatement... It's all been very bittersweet. What we looked forward to for so long was overshadowed by the loss of a very special man. I'm lucky that I was able to know Brent's pawpaw for the last 4 years. The new house is great though. We are adjusting fairly well. I can't wait to update you guys on it. It's a post for another day though. This girls tired and Monday at 4:45 will be here soon (Fingers crossed that Jackson decides to sleep until at least 6am instead)

Easter 2012

Before church Jackson got his first Easter basket...

Then we took a few photos of him in his adorable Easter outfit...

After a wonderful service at church we went to Meme & Pop's for lunch. While waiting on them to get home from church we took a *few* more photos...

then we relaxed...

WHAT A DAY!!

Update on the Move

For those of you who didn't know we accepted an offer on our town home back in February. The contract was set to close last Friday. I'm blogging to you from the town home.... so you know the deal hasn't been successfully finalized yet :( The good news is we've been reassured that the sale should still be okay and the house we are clear to close on should still be ours...only a few weeks later than we planned. What that boils down to is one stressed Momma (me), One chilled daddy (BR), and one baby living out of a plastic bin (Jackson). Our house has been packed up since mid-March. We didn't know the deal wasn't ready to go down on time until 2 days before our originally scheduled closing date. I haven't made mention of this exciting news on the blog or facebook because it's all felt to good to be true. I hope there is still light at the end of the tunnel and that I'm able to share pictures of our beautiful *hopefully* soon to be new home. Stay tuned...

Happy 5 Months Jackson

I can't believe that our little boy is almost half a year old! This last month has been so fun. Jackson started cereal and stage 1 baby food right after his 4 month appointment. To say he enjoys it is an understatement. He wasn't crazy about rice cereal mixed with his milk. He kept spitting it out. We went ahead and started stage 1 baby food (bananas, sweet potatoes, carrots, peas and applesauce) and he digs it :) Lately I have mixed a bit of his cereal in the food and he doesn't seem to mind. The only food he's tried and didn't like were the peas. I don't blame him. Those things were stinky. Jackson is constantly chattering. It's so sweet to watch him carry on a conversation. I'd love to know what he's thinking! His teachers said one day he just squealed out and got tickled during nap time. I'm so thankful that he's a sweet and happy baby.

Jackson's Stats

19 lbs
27 1/2 inches long

***These stats are estimates since we did not have
a 5 month appointment***

I do weigh Jackson with me from time to time though..
he's at 20lbs if not more!

such a clown!
What do you want Mom!
Laying down is much more fun!
My sweet angel

This past month Jackson mastered rolling from stomach to back. At first he used to roll from back to stomach but he doesn't do that nearly as much as the reverse. We are working on sitting up on our own. He hasn't quite figured out how to prop himself up with his hands while sitting. He still topples over. Jackson enjoys playing in his door bouncer and exersaucer. He naps well at home in his crib but I've been told he refuses to nap in his crib at school. I think we have a social butterfly on my hands :)
