Last night as a family of two

I can't believe that this is our last night as a family of two. I really thought the day would go slow but it actually flew by. We had an 8:30am appointment which basically just covered the basics of what will happen tomorrow. We are to show up at the hospital at 6:15am and are scheduled for an 8:15 c-section. Jackson stayed put (high & tight) so the c-section will continue as planned. I had really prayed that he would come on his own. He obviously had other intentions.

Brent and I were able to transfer the tag for our new car today. That took 2 hours! We stood in line forever. Half way thru our wait we realized that we may be in trouble since my drivers license still said "Jackson" and the title to the new car listed me as "Thomas". Brent ran home and grabbed my social & the marriage certificate. Good thing because the clerk said due to the immigration law they would not transfer the tag unless my AL drivers license matched the name on the title. That meant big bloated pregnant me had to get a new license made right then and there. It's an awesome photo... and it STILL expires in January 2012. The whole reason I had not renewed yet... I didn't want to have to do it twice and pay twice.

Everyone has been so sweet today. I've had so many phone calls and texts to check and see if I'm okay and if there's any last minute things we need. I'm very nervous but so excited to meet our sweet son. I pray every detail of tomorrow is smooth and stress-free. Prayers are appreciated :)

39 week update

So much for praying our little baby would come early...

Jackson's 39 week appointment showed that he is still siting high and tight in the "baby house" as my sisters call it. He is not making any progress. We decided to give him until Monday to come out on his own. Our due date is November 1st and if he's still sitting tight on Halloween we will opt for either an induction or scheduled C. The surgery scheduler said she would call tomorrow to confirm our time for Tuesday. As of right now it looks like it may be around 12:30pm.

Our Dr agreed that an induction probably wouldn't help if Jackson remains snuggly cuddly in my tummy. She feels like I do that it'd probably end up in a C anyways so why put my body thru false labor. I keep praying he will drop or decide to make progress on his own. Little man is stubborn like his dad already!! Not too mention they are predicting him to have a large head :( they also anticipate him weighing in around 9 lbs. Oh Lord!

I'm really starting to have some sharp shooting pains in my lower abdomen. It mainly happens when I change positions. I swear it put me in tears twice today. I've found that the 38th week of pregnancy and beyond is just not my friend!

38 week appointment

Nothing new happened at our 38 week appointment. Basically we learned that baby Jackson weighs in at approximately 8.1 lbs with 2 weeks of growing left to do. My stomach which had been measuring a week behind the whole pregnancy now measured a week ahead! Our Dr. said that Jackson seems very content in my stomach. He's not making any progress towards exiting his cramped quarters. We go back this Tuesday and if we are still lagging behind in the progress department we will have some decisions to make. Jackson's head is what is putting him in the 90th percentile of babies. That scares me! Brent had a large head as a baby so I'm not surprised. Brent actually bumped his head coming out of the birth canal and had a huge contusion for months. I pray that does not happen to baby J. Needless to say we are very anxious to meet him. I'm really starting to feel uncomfortable doing basic daily living tasks. He's got to come out soon!

Calera Baby Shower

Baby Jackson was given a wonderful shower by Brent's side of the family a few weeks back. We were 34 weeks at the time. It was so nice to spend the day sharing the excitement with people I do not get to see all that often. Here are some pictures:

37 week Dr. Update

No news... nothing going on in the labor and delivery department. We are scheduled to go back next Wednesday for our 38 week appointment. Hopefully we will learn more then. I'd love an ultrasound to get an estimate of how big baby Jackson is. Things around the house have been slow. Just waiting around on baby Jackson to decide to enter the world :) We will keep you all updated!

Dr. Update

Well I had another pointless appointment at the doctor today. I swear I'm ready to start finding out some info about our baby. I had thought they were going to do the first big "check-up" as you might say to see if we were making any progress but they told me they won't start that until next week when we are considered full term. I was seriously bummed out. I even cried on the way back to work because I just want to have some type of idea of when baby Jackson will make his debut. I know they can't tell you with any exact knowledge but it'd be nice to know if things are progressing or not.

Brent with with me for the first time in months and it was so boring for him. He stayed in the lobby the entire time because we were unable to see my actual doctor. The substitute as I call her was just fine. She was nice and answered the few questions that I had (all regarding to my swollen legs, ankles, feet).

We are now the proud owners of a pump! I never imaged I'd see Brent buy one of those devices but he insisted that we go ahead and be prepared. I think he's thinking clearer about what we need and still need to do before it's too late and Jackson is here. Such a good daddy already :)

I'm counting down the days until next Thursday (next appt). Hopefully we will learn more then.

*sidenote... Jackson feels really big and I've got some strange pains when I walk. Any moms remember those? If so, what were they? I'm pretty clueless.

Newborn Pictures

We are booked and ready for our newborn session. I can't wait to have Jackson here safe and sound and have his pictures made. I'll be the crazy mom that has photos all over the house!! Here's a link to the photographer that will be shooting Jackson's pictures: Johanna Cosby Photography

Over it

Yes... I do believe I am over being pregnant. I'm ready to see a lot more of baby Jackson and a lot less of my swollen feet, ankles, calves, etc. Pregnancy has not been that bad. Sure I've packed on some pounds and been pretty lazy but overall I've felt really good. Besides the queasiness/ throwing up during the first semester things had been great until around week 32. Then the swollen lower extremities began... followed by swollen fingers (goodbye rings) and now a puffy face :(

Tomorrow is our first "weekly" appointment. We are technically 36 weeks and a few days along. I don't want Jackson to come before he's ready but if he happens to be ready in a week or so this mom would be GLAD.

I can't wait to see how Jackson's arrival changes our lives forever... then how I can get back to changing me into some version of my old self. I'm over maternity work clothes and not fitting into my pajamas!
