Blogging Hiatus

Not much has been going on around the Thomas household this week. We were able to celebrate my cousin Ana's wedding last Saturday (which I was in) and Father's Day in Hartselle (Saturday night with dinner at Mikado) and Sunday in Wilsonville with Brent's family. The wedding was nice. One of the bridesmaids standing next to me blacked out/ fainted. It was scary because I did not know what was going on when she kept tapping my side while the bride and groom lit the unity candle. Luckily, Her dad and husband were watching and knew she was going down (she's 4 months pregnant). I'm so glad they ran up to catch her before she and I both went down.

We ended up going to Justin & Jennifer's home for Father's Day. Their new place has a wheelchair ramp which allowed Mr. Thomas to pick his mother up from the nursing home and bring her to the cookout. I think she really enjoyed escaping her usual surroundings.

Justin & Jennifer recently got their first dog. You know what that means...Charlie has his first cousin! His name is Mork. Charlie was interested in sniffing Mork and first but then Mork went on the defensive and kept biting at Charlie's long haired ears and tail. It was funny to watch them skip/hop/slide all over the place. I think it's safe to say that they played well together and will be allowed at future family functions together :)

I'm so glad it's Friday eve. We've got big plans of grilling out veggies and baking pork chops tomorrow for a relaxing night at home. Which will be needed after our trip to Lowe's after work (to purchase supplies to install a chair rail in our dining room on Saturday). I'm excited about the home improvement...not so much about moving all that fancy china out of the way. Here's to hoping Sunday shows us a new glass storm door in the foyer and a primed chair rail in the dining room. Updates coming soon!
